Shielding Yourself from the Sun

Singapore is among those countries which are located near the equator. As such, it is quite unfortunate that we are subjected to higher degrees of UV intensity. And as we know, exposure to intense sunlight without wearing any form of protection is damaging to our skin. Just look at what happens when you stay out in the sun for long hours, you’ll see that your skin will start to peel as a sign of sunburn. To avoid this damage, we must protect our skin from the sun and follow these tips.

Sun-Protection

  • Limit your sun exposure and avoid going outdoors when the sun is at its highest point, usually around 10am-3pm.

spf-3

  • Wear sunscreen, especially when you plan on staying under the sun for several hours. And be sure to apply broad spectrum sunscreens as they block both UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays. Nivea offers a wide range of sun care products. But if you opt for an organic one, then you could try Suntegrity Face and Body SPF 30 products.
  • Wear articles of clothing that will help in protecting you from the sun. For instance, you could wear a wide-brimmed hat to provide some coverage for your face. To shield your eyes from the painful glare of the sun, you could wear sunglasses. And now you could even buy clothes that are UV-Resistant such as those sold by Royal Robbins.
